What are the benefits of being a ButcherBox For Pets subscriber?
Being a subscriber is more than just a delivery schedule — here's what you actually get:
Always-fresh delivery: Your pup's food ships on a regular schedule — no reordering, no emergency store runs.
Custom plan that evolves: Update your dog's profile as they grow and their plan adjusts automatically.
Full flexibility: Reschedule, delay, change frequency, or cancel anytime. You're always in control.
Priority access: Early access to new products, proteins, and limited-run seasonal treats.
Subscriber pricing: Your pricing is locked in — no surprises.
A team that knows your dog: Our support team can see your dog's profile when you reach out — no re-explaining from scratch.
Your first delivery is backed by our satisfaction guarantee — if your dog doesn't love it, we'll make it right.
Can I reschedule, delay, or change the frequency of my delivery?
Life with a dog is wonderfully unpredictable — and your delivery schedule should be able to keep up. From your Next Box section in Manage Subscriptions, you have three flexible options:
Reschedule: Move your next delivery to a specific date without changing your ongoing schedule.
Delay: Push your next order back by 1, 2, or 4 weeks. Perfect for when you're overstocked, traveling, or need breathing room.
Change frequency: Update how often you receive deliveries going forward — weekly, biweekly, monthly, or whatever cadence fits your pup and your pantry.

I'm an existing member, do I have to update to the new subscription model?
We now ship subscriptions individually for each dog to ensure we're catering to their unique needs and preferences.
To update your plan, go the member portal under "Manage Subscriptions" and click "Update My Pets". You will then update the profiles for all your dogs.
Unsure whether your account needs updating?
Email support@butcherboxforpets.com and we'll check for you.
How do I update my personal information?
To update your contact information, please log into your member portal, go to "Manage Subscriptions" and click "Edit Address" under the "Delivery Address" section. This will allow you to update your personal information, including your name, phone number, and shipping address
To update billing information, click "Edit Payment Info" under the "Payment Info" section. This will then trigger an email send to you with steps to follow to update your billing information.
Please note that all changes made will reflect on your next scheduled order.
How do I update my order frequency?
You can update your order frequency at any time prior to your next bill date by logging into your account. Once logged in, click "Manage Subscriptions"
• Navigate to the Next Box section.
• Click Change Date / Frequency to update how often your deliveries arrive.
• Adjust your preferred schedule and save.
Important: changing your frequency does not automatically update your next billing date. Use the Set next order date option in the same section if you want to shift your upcoming charge as well.
Can I update my next bill date?
Absolutely! Log in to your account and click the Set next order date button. A calendar will appear — pick whatever date works for you. Just a heads up — this is your billing date, not your shipping date. Orders ship every Monday and Wednesday, so your order will go out on the next available shipping day following your billing date.
Great for syncing deliveries to a more convenient time of month or shifting away from a busy period.
Can I change the amount of food I receive in my order?
We created a custom plan that is specific to your dog's weight, activity level, and other personal attributes. While you are not able to manually change the amount of food you receive, you can update your dog's meal plan by updating their weight, age, and lifestyle.
In the member portal under "Manage Subscriptions" go to "Edit" under the meal plan section and click "Update Meal Plan" and make any necessary changes to all dogs on your profile. This will then give you a new meal plan based on those changes in order to give your dog the necessary nutrition they need.
Small (S): Smaller dogs or lighter eaters
Small+ (S+): A step up for dogs who need a little more
Medium (M): Our most popular size for mid-size dogs
Large (L): Larger dogs or multi-dog households
Not sure which size is right? Start with our recommendation and adjust anytime — there's no commitment to a specific size.
How do I update my payment method?
• Log in to your account at butcherboxforpets.com.
• Head to Billing & Payment.
• Click Update Payment Method.
• Enter your new card details and save — done!
Update before your next order processing date so your pup's delivery stays on schedule.
What is your cancellation policy?
Before you cancel — did you know you can reschedule or delay your next delivery instead? We'll be here waiting with a full bowl whenever you're ready.
You can cancel any time with no fees. To avoid being charged for your next order, cancel before your billing date.
• Log in → Manage Subscriptions → Cancel Subscription.
• Follow the prompts. You'll receive a confirmation email once done.
If your order has already been processed or shipped, we can't stop it — but reach out to support@butcherboxforpets.com and we'll do our best to help.

What is slow-cooked dog food?
Our Slow-Cooked Nutrition uses the sous vide method — vacuum-sealed and cooked at precisely controlled low temperatures. This matters because:
• High-heat processing (like extrusion used in most kibble) destroys nutrients. Sous vide doesn't.
• Natural moisture and integrity are retained — tender, not mushy.
• Proteins, fats, and micronutrients stay intact in their most bioavailable form.
Think of it like a slow cooker at home — gentle, deliberate cooking that preserves what matters m
How much should I feed my dog?
Every pup is one-of-a-kind. Here's a general daily serving guide for our Dry Dog Food. Split across two meals if preferred.

- Under 10 lbs: 1/4 – 1/2 cup/day
- 10 – 25 lbs: 1/2 – 1 cup/day
- 25 – 50 lbs: 1 – 2 cups/day
- 50 – 75 lbs: 2 – 2.5 cups/day
- 75 – 100 lbs: 2.5 – 3.5 cups/day

For Slow-Cooked Nutrition, your plan is calculated automatically based on your dog's weight, age, activity level, and lifestyle. View your personalized feeding guideline by logging in to your account at butcherboxforpets.com/account.
Puppies, seniors, very active dogs, and pups with health conditions may need adjustments. Your vet is always the best resource.

Why should I choose ButcherBox For Pets over other brands?
With ButcherBox For Pets Premium Nutrition we assure a food that:
- The supply chain is already ours: Built on the ButcherBox network — the same farms that feed over a million human households. No anonymous third-party sourcing.
- Is developed and tested by board-certified veterinary nutritionists: Every recipe formulated and tested for complete, balanced nutrition.
- Uses organic, free-range ButcherBox chicken or organic, all-natural ButcherBox turkey as the #1 ingredient
- Has ingredients like yeast culture to promote healthy digestion and support sensitive stomachs
- Undergoes strict testing across all ingredients for multiple quality standards
Other brands talk about quality. We already had the supply chain before we made pet food.
Why can’t I just buy the food on my ButcherBox subscription?
To recognize your dog for the special companion that they are, we wanted to give them their own subscription too! With each family having unique (human + pet) feeding needs and differences in supply chains and storage requirements, we opted to have ButcherBox For Pets be a unique membership independent of a core ButcherBox subscription.
What is the consistency and texture of the food?
Our Premium Slow-Cooked Nutrition has a soft, hearty texture that’s easy to scoop and serve. Thanks to the sous vide cooking method, the food retains its natural moisture and integrity, resulting in a tender, gently cooked consistency—not mushy like wet food, but softer and more palatable than traditional kibble. It’s designed to be easy to chew and digest, making it a great option for dogs of all sizes and life stages.
Premium Nutrition Dry Food is standard dry kibble. Disc-shaped kibble, approximately 10–14mm in diameter and 5–7mm in length.
What is the actual size of the Premium Nutrition Dry Food?
